yikEs.....

Ok, I've done what I wasn't ever going to do... move to an E post code. Without even the EC-ness to blunt the edge. To be fair, I am only one street into E1, and After two weeks of living in the flat, I've not turned into a cockney, so I think all is well. in any case, the six-minute commute to work is enjoyable - so too is looking out onto Spitalfields market from the living area. What's not so great is lack of broadband - and all the city-savvy types who live in out building have secured their networks... Anyway, not to worry, we'll soon have that all sorted out and the blog will be up and running again, possibly commenting on work, play or other stuff that comes up every now and again.

Valentines - Brazilian Style

Spent last night here where Valentine's night was about as romantic as a sweaty dance floor full of people throwing some all-out samba moves, which is a fairly accurate description of the venue. In fact it was the warm-up event for their carnival season - the real Rio one starts this Saturday - and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Could have done with a few more keen dancers, but with a male:female ratio of about 1:3, there was plenty to do from the edges of the boards. One thing which did make me very jealous of all things Brazilian was their natural/innate claim to coolness. There is no other country in the world (that we could think of) that gives you immediate kudos and cool points, just from being born there. I'll definitely be there more often, the bad memories of my previous visit have been quashed, saca?

Back at the 'Com

Who'd have thought - just over 150 days after bidding fond farewells to Barnes and this lot, I'd be back in the old office, hungry for more? Ok, perhaps not chewing my fingers for starvation, but more curious to see what today's specials are. Oh, and it's a good excuse to visit the local pushchair brigade at Cafe Nero. Swings... and indeed roundabouts.
